From NYC to Paris, France and off to London, England!

The past couple of weeks have been truly amazing! First in NYC Fashion week covering shows for Beyond Beauty Basics and the next doing hair and makeup for Universal Records recording artist, Melody Gardot! Next week I will be wrapping up Melody’s shoot in London! A special thanks to Bobbi Brown for hand-delivering product to my hotel in Paris from their office here in France! They sent me some wonderful shades for Melody that I will be sharing on Beyond Beauty Basics..just as soon I close up this project in London!

New York Fashion Week – Spring 2009 – Umm…what's today?

New York Fashion Week is a total work-out! Attending shows, being pampered by vendors, interviewing my makeup artist icon, Kabuki, and getting to have a cocktail with the Lauder family and makeup artist, Bobbie Brown, is exhausting!

Thankfully Beyond Beauty Basics’ partner, Total Beauty, has provided us a beautiful suite in the Bryant Park Hotel to chill in between shows and events. Better yet, each day a different vendor is in the suite giving us hand massages and hair styling services!

New York Fashion Week – Spring 2009 – 9/7/2008

After battling harsh winds, rain, and a leaky Amtrak train, I got into New York City last night and collapsed once I got checked in. With a big day lined up for today, I started off right by having breakfast with reps from Thierry Mugler. Their signature fragrance, Angel, is re-vamped with an updated look and new technology to their formula. Launching this fall, Angel now has a time-released system which will last up to 8 hours. I was able to pick up a bottle of the new and improved Angel fragrance at the breakfast so a report on Beyond Beauty Basics will be posted shortly.

Once I wrapped up breakfast, it was off to the Tracy Reese show at Bryant Park. The styles for Spring ’09 included free-flowing fabrics in vibrant colors of peach, yellow, and green. The hair and makeup were of course equally as beautiful with loose low chignon hair styles and rosy cheeks and eyes that literally popped off the runway! Famous faces in attendance included Brandy and Sarah Silverman!

A complimentary skin analysis by Dermalogica closed my day off right! Although, I know I have oily skin! Thankfully they recommended some wonderful products and were generous with samples for trial!

Tired, achy, and just simply done, I sit in my hotel room flipping through pictures from the day and thank my lucky stars for this priceless experience. :)
