Product Review: L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Serum Inside Line Minimizing Concealer

A good concealer is hard to find.  I’ve been through it all and, although I have my favorites, no one concealer completely does the trick for me.  Either it’s incredibly heavy on the skin and I need only a dab, or it’s too thin and I need to apply multiple layers.  Sometimes the texture is too creamy and it creases, and sometimes it’s too dry and it seeps into the little fine lines.

Recently, I did a bit of much needed makeup organizing.  As a makeup artist, I have drawers and drawers of product and it was time for a good clean-up and organization.  I came across products I haven’t tried yet, including L’Oréal’s Visible Lift Serum Inside Line Minimizing Concealer and it was a good find.

I’m half Egyptian (I know, shocker!) and I have the standard-issue blue-grey circles under my eyes.  As I age, it gets worse.  Additionally, I have these little fine lines popping up under my eyes.  It’s a wonderful combination, just kidding.

The concealer is pen-like in shape and has its own applicator-brush.  The top of the wand turns clock-wise and clicks to release product into the brush.  Typically, I like to apply product with a separate concealer brush but didn’t mind the applicator it came with.  It fits neatly in the inner corner of eyes and can get close underneath the lower lash-line.  The formula is amazing.  It’s soft, lightweight, sets, does not crease, and has coverage.  Just one swipe completely neutralized my under eye circles.  I’m hooked!

Jason Backe at Ted Gibson Salon: Look Like A Celebrity

We all go through hair A.D.D., one day we love, the next day we hate.  For me, I just could not find a groove with my current style.  I liked it but it didn’t “wow” me.  I’ve been in limbo for a while now figuring out what looks best with my pinkish skin tone and big brown eyes.

During Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week Media Mixer in February, I bumped into Ted Gibson and Jason Backe, two big power players in the business of celebrity hair styling and owners of the infamous Ted Gibson Salons in New York and Washington, DC.  Jason saw how frustrated I was with my current hairstyle. From the intense look in his eyes, I could see he had big plans for my limp locks. Jason invited me to visit one of the salon’s two locations for an update.

Two new great products from LOREAL are the Extra-Volume Collagen Mascara and Telescopic Explosion Mascara.

The Extra-Volume Collagen Mascara plumps lashes for an extreme voluminous look. This product removes easily with soap and water. A waterproof option is available in Black and Blackest Black.

LOREAL Telescopic Explosion Mascara has a wand that may be a bit familiar to another “cutting edge” product, or it may resemble something you would never think to put near your eye!  Rest assured, this is not a torture device!  The product is amazing and, with the wand, you have total control from root to tip and left to right.  You can now get every single lash coated, fantastic!  My only suggestion, be sure to remove this product with an eye makeup remover.  It really does have long wear time!

This technique may be more comfortable with added control to the application.
